Grades changed after the time of evaluation may be taken into consideration. Only grades posted at the time of evaluation will be used to determine a student’s progress for the next term. Evaluations contributing to the final grade for each practicum/rotation are required from medical facilities located at external locations. PA, SCP, DPT and TCOM practicum/rotation grades are not always posted at the end of each term because they are submitted from the external location. Students only enrolled in thesis or dissertation must show satisfactory progress as identified with a grade of “S”. Percentages will not be rounded-up to ensure that a student meets the minimum cumulative GPA. With respect to repeated course work, each academic program’s policy will determine which grade will be calculated in the cumulative GPA. Withdrawals, incompletes, and course(s) with grades of “H”, “P”, “NP”, “PR”, “S” and “U” will not count towards GPA. Official grades are posted in PeopleSoft (EIS) at the end of each term and will be used to compute a cumulative grade point average. Undergraduate/Graduate/Professional students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average (See chart below). HSC follows the set of standards set by the Department of Education as follows: The FAO SAP status will not be placed on a student’s academic transcript. The FAO’s SAP Policy is used for Financial Aid purposes only and may differ from student’s academic standing. Medical students’ academic progress is determined by the established Student Performance Committee (explained below). The University of North Texas Health Science Center Financial Aid Office (FAO) has chosen to perform the evaluation at the end of each payment period (the combined summer terms equals a single payment period). This determination must be made at least once per year. The University of North Texas Health Science (HSC) provides financial aid assistance to each of its undergraduate/graduate/professional level programs including: Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM), School of Health Professions, School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Public Health, and UNT System College of Pharmacy (SCP).įederal regulations require schools to monitor the academic progress of financial aid recipients and certify the applicant is making satisfactory progress toward earning his/her degree.
